A letter from Mary Ann Tupper, Director HRH
For the eighth year in a row, Human Resources of the Hamptons was able to convince 400 local volunteers to jump into the ocean to help feed the hungry people of Southampton.
Our annual Polar Bear Plunge, held last Saturday at Cooper's Beach in Southampton, raised $52,000, and counting, for our local food pantry, which is the largest on eastern Long Island.
HRH is grateful to these local businesses for their generous donations of hot food and drinks:
Catena's Market
Golden Pear
Southampton 7-Eleven
Village Gourmet Cheese Shop
Hampton Bagel
Our sponsors: Suffolk County National Bank, The Tomorrow Foundation, Farrell Building, Wright & Co. Construction, and Bonnie Grice of WPPB local radio, who donates her time and talent every year to be the Plunge MC.
We're kept safe by the Southampton, Hampton Bays and NOrth Sea Firefighters, the Southampton and Southampton Village Ambulance Volunteers and EMTs, and the Southampton Village Police, all of whom volunteer their servcie and equipment every year.
We are so grateful to the plunging faithful, the hundreds of local people who have taken the chilly dip every year to help us raise money for our food pantry. HRH simply could not do it without you.
